Listening to that first track, do you guys hear a few different pitches comming off of the kick? A lower pitch for the first of a "double" and then a higher pitch for the second hit when he burys the beater into the head.

I think he did, especially on the older tracks if you listen close you can hear little noise even his Sqeek King pedal at times, for they miked his batter side head and front head back then and only really used overheads, no real close miking in those days.

Ever since that clip of the Fool in the Rain drumtrack [& thx again for that, HOD bro], I've gone back & listened to some LZ...hip stuff, still, even by today's "standards." Even moreso, perhaps...playing along to that stuff is fun. Ah, the memories.

Gotta love that groove of Bonzo's AWA that phat, raw, ambient sound that they got. LZ was mostly a very unique & orig rock band, & missed.

Yet another reason to lay off the [too much] "heavy sauce[s]."

I can only imagine what the Zep would've gone on to do [in the days since Bonzo] if he had still been with us...

It would've been great to hear Jeff w them [aft JB]. Though ironic he left us too. But that, to me, would've been a cool pairing.

They should try to get together & do something again w Jason B [or maybe some other groovy RnB style drummer] b4 one of the other members passes...? [Or, maybe not]...You know how that stuff goes...
